The Education Law Project is based out of Kingston Community Legal Clinic, as part of the East and Central Region Community Legal Clinics Transformation Project. These projects are designed to expand and improve upon the services offered to community legal clinic clients, and to enhance access to justice.
The Education Law Project is staffed by Ryan Deacon. He studied law at the University of New Brunswick, and was called to the bar in 2015. After working for Justice for Children and Youth, a legal aid clinic that specializes in protecting the rights of young persons, he joined Kingston Community Legal Clinic as a staff lawyer in 2016. He currently provides legal representation to students and their families who are facing challenges in the education system.
